For 25 years Accelerate Institute has focused on closing the achievement gap in low-income, urban schools by creating high-impact, transformational school leaders that accelerate student achievement.
The principal is the catalyst who creates the conditions necessary to transform our schools. The frequently quoted statistic that principals account for 25 percent of a school’s total impact on student achievement understates the principal’s true role within today’s urban schools. An effective principal can be “force-multiplier” in that he or she ensures that students continue to make academic gains year after year by creating consistent, quality learning experiences in classrooms throughout the school, hiring, managing, and developing teachers to drive effectiveness, and building a culture of high aspirations and accelerated academic achievement.
Accelerate Institute is anchored by four innovative programs that converge together for a singular focus of accelerating student achievement: The Ryan Fellowship, The Ryan Award, Accelerator, and Alain Locke Charter School.
Our commitment to diversity
Accelerate Institute embraces diversity. It is something we have believed in and supported from day one. Having a diverse organization aligns with our commitment to an equal opportunity workplace. We celebrate equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, Veteran status, or other legally protected status. We are also ready to accommodate physically challenged or special needs individuals that require any special assistance. Accelerate Institute is proud of our history of diversity and is a strong supporter of the community.
